Look‑to‑book

The ratio of searches (looks) to bookings. It is a measure of search efficiency and conversion and drives cost and capacity planning.

While useful, look‑to‑book should be read with context: vertical mix, shopping patterns and caching all influence it. Optimisation focuses on deduplication, routing and UI clarity rather than chasing one number.

See also the unified travel API. For what to ask a vendor about caching, routing and retries, read look-to-book ratio and caching.
